Monkey!

I didn’t realize how much of a monkey Benjamin truly is until I took him to Pump it Up today. (Stay tuned for photos from the weekend once I find my misplaced camera).

Anyway, Jeremy has been busy… a lot. We haven’t gotten to see him much the last week or so. To make up for it, I have been trying to find plenty of fun things to keep Benjamin occupied. Today, he went down for a very early nap, and slept 3.5 hours. It was wonderful, because I got to nap and get a bunch of work done on my upcoming newsletter.

When I woke him up, we went straight to Pump it Up to meet our friends, Tammy and Dominic, for some play time. Benjamin used to need me to haul him up the slides and obstacle courses. Not so this time. He waved me off to do it himself!

And…I get nervous by the height of these things…so imagine how big they are to a toddler!

ASs you can see, this SMALLER slide, has little rungs to climb almost straight up like a ladder. I even let him go down by himself, which is scary since it is so high and so fast. He was a champ though…

I didn’t get the obstacle course on film, but picture American Gladiators. At the end, Benjamin had to climb a giant wall to go down the slide. It is literally straight up…and I have a very hard time with it when I am carrying him, because it is so steep. He did it himself. My jaw dropped when I watched him grunt and pull his little body up the wall. Of course, I was right behind him to attempt to catch him if he fell.

WE tried to get the boys to take a photo together…

We played nearly two hours! Mommy is sore and tired, but it was wonderful. We pulled in the driveway just as Jeremy got home, ate dinner and had a nice evening together. Now, Jeremy is back to work. It has been really difficult for him, so keep him in your prayers if you think of it. He is trying to keep up with the demands at work and spend time with us. But, he is getting behind with work and frustrated about not having much family time. The next two days, he plans to get to work at 5:30 a.m. and to work until  or 6 p.m. On Saturday, I am going to leave the house for a while so he can try to catch up a little, because he has to work all day Sunday and has two projects due on Wednesday. But, luckily Tammy’s husband is busy this weekend too, so we may have more adventures with Dominic!
