Fall outings

Benjamin and I have been busy this week! Thursday, we started our first Fall story time at the West Chester LIbrary. BEnjamin was the only kid who refused to sit still, but luckily the class was very laid back. I met a few nice people, and then took B outside to play around the Square @ Union Centre…that’s what they call the park/shopping area by the library.

They had a clock and a fountain! Benjamin was enthralled. Plus, he got to see ducks, cross a bridge over the pond and run around to his heart’s content. So, it was a good way to kill a little time during a challenging day when neither of us felt great. B has ANOTHER cold. It is his second one of the fall…so hopefully it isn’t too bad.

Benjamin and his adorable “girl” friend Claire went to the zoo today. Aren’t they precious together?

It was so cold most of the morning, but we enjoyed the lack of crowds.

Here, Benjamin called to Claire to follow him in his escape effort. She kept checking to make sure it was OK. Benjamin just took off. I followed, of course.

He kept looking back to make sure she was following…when she was, he just grinned and giggled.

Look Claire! Dirt… and lots of it!

Once we cleaned them up, we headed to the children’s zoo where Benjamin could watch the Wallaby forever!

It looks like a little kangaroo, and it makes Benjamin laugh!

Then, on to the playground…

We ended the day with a train ride. Benjamin sat like a big boy next to me in his own seat. He was quite proud of this.

When we got home, Benjamin was tired enough to fall asleep despite the hammering on the roof. The new shingles are installed, and life is back to order in the Hilty house. Best yet, Jeremy gets to spend the whole weekend home with us. Hooray!

  1. How did I not know you had a blog? I'm glad I finally found it! I got your email and will send you some stuff on food storage and preparedness. It'll be a good refresher for me too since we've got about a 1 week extra supply of food in the house...
