Happy July 4!

Jeremy and I spent a WONDERFUL long weekend together. We loved every peaceful minute of it. Benjamin LOVED having both Mommy and Daddy paying attention to him non-stop. We went to the pool, played at the park, hung out at the house and went shopping. I didn’t get many photos from the weekend, but I did take a funny video. Our neighbors from across the street came over for dinner. Here is a video of Michelle teaching Benjamin to bounce a ball.

Jeremy’s first day of his residency went well, though it looks like it is going to be a challenging year. I also started my new job Tuesday. It was a little hectic, but I am learning the computer system quickly. I have a bunch of tasks to accomplish this month, namely trying to market a social media campaign to win a car. Consider yourselves all recruits to help me!

Today, Benjamin and I spent our first of many days together in my new role as stay-at-home mom. I don’t know that he noticed too much, but he had fun. We went to story time at the Mason library. I signed up for a library card, but Benjamin was too quick for me to pause long enough to even glance at books.

Here we are outside in a tent for story time. I could only get the back of Benjamin, because I spent the whole time chasing him!

He kept telling me “ALL DONE.” Sigh. Maybe next week we can try a different library to see if their toddler time is better.

Afterward, we went to Quatman Café for lunch. I had written a magazine article about the owners, and I was dying to try one of the burgers. So, Benjamin enjoyed ice water and a few bites of the burger I scarfed down. Then, we went home for a nap time. He kept reminding me how hot it was in the car and outside.

When he woke up, we took a quick trip to the pool and then came back to hang out until bedtime. Jeremy was in Indianapolis all day taking his Pharmacy Board Exam. He thinks he did well and was more confident that he was after the law exam last week.
